Adhese Universal is the clinically proven single-component, light-cured adhesive for direct and indirect bonding procedures from Ivoclar Vivadent. It can be used for the total-etch technique, as a self-etch adhesive and for the selective-enamel-etch technique. The unique VivaPen delivery form ensures quick and convenient application of Adhese Universal directly in the mouth of the patient.
The universally applicable adhesive is capable of establishing a sound bond to various types of restorative materials. It is suitable for direct and indirect bonding procedures. Due to its low film thickness, the proper fit of indirect restorations will not be compromised. Moreover, a dual-cure activator is not required in the cementation of indirect restorations.
Compatible with all etching techniques
Adhese Universal combines hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties in one product. It is tolerant to moisture and penetrates well into the open dentinal tubules. Its mildly acidic effect makes Adhese Universal well-suited for any etching protocol (self-etch, selective-enamel-etch and total-etch) and ensures an optimum bond between the restorative material and natural tooth structure.
Simple “Click” activation of the VivaPen dispenses the exact amount of material needed for each procedure. Dispensing of adhesive material into a mixing well is no loner required, which results in a significant reduction of material waste. The 2 millilitres of adhesive contained in the VivaPen are sufficient for approx. 190 single-tooth applications. Compared to conventional bottle delivery forms, this amounts to almost 3 times more applications per millilitre (source: Berndt & Partner, VivaPen Benchmarking Study, August 2013). Adhese Universal is available both in the innovative VivaPen and conventional bottles.
Adhese Universal is technique-tolerant and forgiving. It forms a stable, homogeneous layer that is not sensitive to any application technique. With only a single layer of adhesive, consistently high bond strengths are achieved on dentin and enamel irrespective of the etching protocol used. The acetone-free, hydrophilic solvent contained in Adhese Universal ensures optimum wetting of the dentin and enamel. The adhesive penetrates the dentinal tubules and seals them. Therefore, the movement of dentinal fluid within the tubules as well as the postoperative sensitivity associated with that movement are minimized.
Reliable curing from 3 seconds
Adhese Universal forms a part of an efficient system:
Consisting of well-coordinated products, the 3s PowerCure product system allows clinicians to fabricate high-quality, esthetic posterior restorations very efficiently.
The system comprises the dental adhesive Adhese Universal, the intelligent high-performance curing light Bluephase PowerCure as well as the sculptable Tetric PowerFill and the flowable Tetric PowerFlow 4-mm composites.
When direct Class I and II restorations are placed in permanent posterior teeth, 3-second exposures from the occlusal aspect are sufficient for all curing steps with the Bluephase PowerCure in the 3sCure mode. Users will notice right away that the curing time required is considerably reduced. At the same time, they will continue to achieve the customary high-quality esthetic results.
